Why Do CBD Products Range So Much in Price?

If you’ve ever looked into buying CBD, you’ve probably realized that products range from a dollar to nearly five hundred dollars. This can be really confusing for first time buyers, especially when dosing and quality come into play. Is more expensive better? Are there cheap products that work? Am I wasting my money? It’s almost impossible to make a decision without doing some research. And even then, some educated buyers will have to try a multitude of products before landing on one that works for them. Here I hope to help you skip those steps by giving you a quick run-down.

First of all… one of the major reasons for varying prices is the difference in dosages. I’ve bought lollipops for a dollar that had 5 mg of CBD. Unless you plan on eating 5 lollipops in one sitting, this is a complete waste of your money. This is so common especially with edibles. In my opinion, it’s rare to find an edible that is both dosed and priced reasonably. Another thing to take into account with tinctures especially is the size of the container. The amount of CBD on the bottle is per container, so cheaper products may still look like a high dose, but they’re diluted because the bottle is bigger, meaning theres more of the carrier oil and less of the actual CBD. If you’re trying a range of products, I find it helpful for comparison reasons to buy multiple products in the same dosage and size bottle, or tub, this way you’re actually getting the same amount of CBD in each product and have a better chance at assessing the quality.

Another reason for products being priced slightly higher is nano-emulsification. If a product is nano-emulsified, the particles are smaller and more easily absorbed by the body. This can make a 300 mg tincture act like a 500 mg tincture in terms of effect. Nano-emulsified products are highly superior to regular CBD products, and paying an extra buck is not a waste of your money. In fact it’ll probably save you money in the long run because you’ll need less per dose and won’t have to re-up so soon. Typically when it comes to CBD you get what you pay for, but it’s still important to make sure the product you chose has natural and healthy ingredients and that it has either hemp or isolate derived CBD.
