Formula 420 Product Quick Overview / Breakdown.

We sell a lot of Formula 420 cleaning products in our store. Some sell much better than others and I prefer some over others but that’s because I know my process and have specific things to clean. Take a look at what you’re trying to clean, look through this breakdown and make a choice on what is going to be best for you.

NOTE: Formula 420 has different inexpensive, no frills pipe cleaning caps from what I show in the video. They stretch over the ends of the pipe openings and appear like they will do a great job. I have yet to test them.

Formula 420 Original Cleaner

“The only complete one minute formula”
Pyrex, Glass, Metal, Ceramic
Biodegradable
This is a good cleaner and what we sell most of in the store. Pour it in making sure you have equal parts solution and abrasive. Plug the holes with your fingers or use the Formula 420 caps and shake the living hell out of it in every different direction you can for one minute. Pour it out and rinse with warm water. This is pretty much the standard for cleaning with an abrasive. See the All Natural formula and the 710.

Formula 420 Natural Cleaner

When you’re die hard at keeping things natural, have some placebo fear of using a freshly cleaned pipe or want to do something better for the environment… I really have no clue if it’s better once it’s been washed down the drain but this is a good enough reason for me to try it –
Then give the all natural a try.

Formula 420 Daily Use

So in the video I say that there is the daily use and the concentrated daily use. Truth be told it’s all concentrate. Pour one part solution and one part water into your piece. This product was intended for people who clean heavily. Being a concentrate one bottle will last as long as two. Because you’re doing it frequently you wont need an abrasive.

Formula 420 Plastics
Plastic, Acrylic, Silicone
Has abrasive
Exactly what it says. It’s made for plastic, acrylic and silicone pipes.

Formula 420 Soak N Rinse Formulated for Small Items

This stuff is my jam. You can take a hand pipe chuck full of resin and get it out in one or two soaks without any scrubbing. I pour it into a mason jar, drop a pipe in and cover. 24 hours later I rinse the pipe out in the sink and put another pipe in the solution. The dab oil rig in the video was cleaned with this. I filled the pipe, let it sit for 24 and dumped it into the jar. My accessories were put into it and clean a day later. Another round of accessories went in for 24. After that the solution looked clean as it was only oil. I love how the oil stays in solution in this instead of settling out. Anyway, after that I started cycling my pipes through it. I can honestly clean all my pipes with one bottle of this and it’s no effort. No shaking.

Formula 420 710 Cleaner

The 710 cleaner is like the Original Cleaner but made more for oil residues in pipes. It has an abrasive.

Formula 710 Advanced

This cleaner does not have an abrasive. Instead it is made for more intricate pieces where you cannot get the abrasive in or if you can get it in there it doesn’t every want it to come out. I liked it but I’m not in love with it. Maybe I let my stuff sit too long between cleanings.

That’s it. Peace out. I’m going to burn.
